Chris Dobey, the darts player born in Bedlington, England, was nicknamed Hollywood in his early years due to his extravagant outfits. His move from the BDO to the PDC in 2015 was supported by Scottish star Gary Anderson, which was crucial for his development.
After joining the PDC, Dobey soon made his television debut and then impressed consecutively at major tournaments like the European Darts Championship and the Grand Slam of Darts, before securing his first individual victory at the PDC World Championship in 2017. 2019 was considered a pivotal year for his career, as he not only reached the last 16 of the PDC World Championship but also competed in the Premier League in his hometown of Newcastle upon Tyne and achieved a nine-dart finish in Players Championship 2.
